Questions regarding bankruptcy |
Bankruptcy might seem to be the only solution for some people
who have contracted unwise credits. Filing bankruptcy online is possible
as well as filing for bankruptcy in person. What does this imply? When you file for bankruptcy, you are legally freed of all financial problems and debt until a court of law settles your financial situation. Creditors must not harass you anymore, your utilities must be restored in case they have been cut off, and you can also put under question the claims your creditors have in case it seems to you that they are charging you too much money. If any of your properties has been taken by your creditors, they will have to give it back to you until there is a final decision in court regarding your financial state. However, at the end of the procedure, you might lose your assets used as guarantees in case you cannot make payments anymore. And, above all the above mentioned fact, the most positive thing about bankruptcy is that once you have been declared bankrupt, you will have a new financial start. There is a wrong conception that one who has been declared bankrupt in a court of law, is not allowed to owe anything for a given period of time. Actually, one can still owe things that have been obtained after filing for it. So, on the whole, bankruptcy will make your financial problems disappear as it gives you debt relief. However, there are still things that must be paid. In case you are paying child support, you are still obliged by the law to pay it. Then, you still have to pay loans which you contracted by willingly making use of false information. And, if you have any loans which do not appear in your petition of bankruptcy, they have to be paid back. However, utility services may not cut off your utilities. They may ask you to make a deposit and you have to pay bills that arrive after the filing has been made. Then, in case you lost your driving license because you were unable to pay fines for the damages that resulted from an accident you are allowed to get your license back, but only in the case in which you were not under the influence of alcohol at the moment of the accident. You have to carefully weigh the pros and the cons and only then make a decision. |
"I couldn't believe it! I checked over my credit report and found an error from an
issue I thought I had worked out years ago. By using your information I was able
to clear it up and could then get that loan I wanted at a lower interest rate
than previously expected" |
