Your Credit Report
Steps For The Dispute Process

1.   Make a list of all the negative entries you find in each credit report.

2.   Hand write and mail a dispute letter or go to the credit bureau's website and fill out the online
dispute form. Remember, no more than 3 disputes per credit bureau at a time.

3.   If disputing by mail, send your first letters by regular post. If a decision does not come back after
about 35 days, follow up with a letter demanding that the disputed information be corrected or
removed immediately. Send this letter certified mail with a return receipt.

4.   Keep all correspondences that you receive from the bureaus. Even letters just telling you that they
received your inquiry. It's all proof you may need.

Remember to always include a copy of your credit report when mailing a dispute letter. Also note that you
may see the credit bureaus claim on your report that "No one can have accurate, current and verifiable
information removed from your credit report." Don't pay attention to that statement because they do not
mention that accurate information can be removed if it cannot be verified.
"I couldn't believe it! I checked over my credit report and found an error from an issue I thought I had worked out years ago. By using your information I was able to clear it up and could then get that loan I wanted at a lower interest rate than previously expected"
